I was considering running a public server again by ENSL. The problem with traditional public is that it'd require team balancing plugins, because competitive players are not really interested in making balanced teams on public. However this time I was thinking about classic combat with a few quirks, namely I would code a feature to ENSL Plugin which will start a vote at each map start for which combat mode to use. For example:

- Celeresupply
- Celeresupply + bitelerk & a1/w1
- Skulks vs lmgs (with all upgrades except MT, SoF, cloak, scan)
- SGs vs Fades (cele only, a1+w3+welders+mt etc.)
- ENSL Ladder Rules (no onos, ha, jp or focus)
- Suggest?

I could also get some statistics to see if there are some imbalanced options.

Great idea, the only other CO server available is amxmodded to complete shit.

Skulks vs. LMGs will be very imba for the Marines, Alien upgrades > Marine upgrades. Especially if Focus is allowed, but even without Focus it's dodgy. I'd suggest Skulk vs. LMG with no SoF, Cloak, Focus, Leap, Xenocide, A3, Welders, Mines, MT.

Yeah sounds good. Keep it small though. I wouldn't suggest anything over 14 player slots... 12 would be preferable.

Keep the timelimit low whenever possible. Co kinda lacks anything to get the game initiated. Low timelimit should help a bit on that.

Sg vs Fades maybe not up to wu3.. only wu2 or wu1? wu3 sg hurts the fade rly bad if its cele only!

i think its an extremely good idea since i like combat cause its good for practicing aim/movement and ect
without the downtime in ns classic and imo those xmenu mods gorge structures and all that extra crap ruins all the funalso i havent seen a normal combat server in an insanely long time :p

consider "hardcore mode" or w/e its called that they have on evolvens server, lose the points you spent on fade/sg/hmg/jp/onos if you die

thats abit unfair for marines since they usually have a higher death rate versus higher lifeforms imo atman :P but i rly like your proposals jiriki those modes are good

I like hardcore on asmo's server. You can pick up lost guns btw and everyone has a free welder - love it. Never experienced more teamwork on combat. And I think it's pretty balanced.

Don't make too many options to vote imo, concentrate on 2-3 max. 4

Generally I like the idea of ENSL co server. I like combat but you can't play it anywhere because everywhere you go it's buildmenu crap and 10 cloaked onos with 3000 hp blocking every hallway. Love JP vs fade.

Never heard of it before, sounds.. hardcore! Need to test it sometime

As for suggestions I would like to see focus cele leap vs a1/w1 sgs and the tradiotinal supply vs cele is cool.

Hardcore mode sounds like a great idea. Just make sure you remove xeno.

Also celeresup/bitelerk vs w1/a1 or w0/a1 marines might pick up some of the early game skills that appear to be lacking in the scene at the minute...

hardcore mode will make me go spawncamp and get jps just to stay in a vent and shoot my GL against skulks. IT SHOULD BE ON DEFINITELY

It seems pretty much impossible to make combat against good players fun, at least for more than 15 minutes at a time, unfortunately.
