Hi all,

I wanted to share some quick suggestions I had, mostly related to Gather.

1. Since we have been seeing a lot of NA and EU players in Gather, it would be nice to be able to display a small flag icon next to a player for what region they're from. This could be simply just be added as a Profile option. This way, I'd be able to see if there are any other NA in Gather before I join, so I don't end up being the only one with 150-200 ping and ruin a good game.

2. It'd be nice to have a timestamp displayed on Gather for when it got filled and the game started. This will help determine whether Gather is actually empty and no one is around, or if one just got started.

No there are not!

And i do not see any gatherqueue in the future ever.

You do not have enough ppl from one specific region at the time so that this would make sense.

If you need a gather with only german speaking ppl make the gathers like we did in the old days:
Get a Steamgroup German NS Gathers going invite lots of players and when you feel there are enough ppl that might wanna play spam everyone to join a server then pick 2 caps and elt em make teams .. DONE !

And joining 2 gathers queue or not queue at once is not allowed anyway cause one might start while you still play the other one and then 11 ppl wait for you .. so joining 2 queues would not be ok anyway.

I don't think "several gather queues" can be done anytime soon, because the player pool would not allow that in my opinion. It also goes against the idea of the gathers where you can have the chance to play with anyone, including top players or regulars as well as newcomers.

Maybe in the next iteration of the website we can have a gather feature specific to a region, but this is yet to be determined.

As for timestamps and flags, I can probably do something about it.

My suggestion wasn't to have multiple gather queues, but simply to display an icon for the region a player is from.

Yeah I started integrating the flags for every player during all the gather phases, still some work to do with the display. But it should be updated sometime during January I guess so that should "help" this region issue :)

It would be nice if gathers were divided into regions. I've started joining gathers recently and most of the time we played in US servers. 2/12 guys were from US coast and no one from EU picked a server from europe. So when we end up at the Nexil server. 2 guys from US sit to the comm chair with their low pings and rest of the players from eu played with 150+ pings (250 at peak hours in my case since it's literally the other side of the planet). I had to leave the game because of this just now.

Maybe 2 channels for gathers (US and EU) would do it (or in server list you may try seperating us and eu servers so people would pick wisely). At least people would join knowing that their ping will be high.

Well you have the flags now .. and since everyone should eb able to communicate .. maybe ppl can agree in TeamSpeak that .. ok the voted server is not very good for 80 eprcent of the ppl .. lets jsut use another one!

If ppl are reasonable you can talk about those things .. it is not forced to play on the server .. if it is 50 50 . well tough luck but then it would nto matter anyway!

AND JUST SPAM THE PPL SO THEY WOULD ACTUALLY VOTE ... i did that in NS1 all the time!

NS1 is dead and NS1 Gather is useless now.

Just change NS1 gather to Euro gather (only Euro servers). Change NS2 gather to US gather (only US servers)

This is an easy solution.

You're acting like it's difficult to add another gather link on the website. You're missing the point.

No I'm not missing it. u know it's always hard to make things change in ensl web site. Maybe easiest can be done.

The team-joining mechanics could definitely use some attention. Currently a new player has to click 'Agenda' and then scroll through a list of 100s of teams that isn't even in alphabetical order. Would be much simpler if each team's page just had a "Apply to join team" link.

This is a great idea. I've also thought of something similar with joining the contests. So we have "Join the contest" with a dropdown box with the teams you are currently in. Hopefully we can get both in the future.

Simple displaying the team list in alphabetical order in the dropdown menu would be a vast improvement.

But sadly you see this statistics they did not really say much .. cause yeah Saebel and me might be in the TOP 5 in numbers of gathers played .. but we still sucked every single one of them XD !

It's not really about "who to pick", so much as just seeing some fun stats.

Best case scenario, more gathers will be played in order to compete with top spots.

a widget, preferably on the front page, that just lists teams looking for pcw/scrim. Just let a team sign up and have it ping when someone else responds.

it's way too awkward without any centralized way of getting some practice.

I just got this idea while watching my friend play the nations cup at ET, why haven't an Nations cup/Tournament. I think this can boost up the community and the game alot. 1 person from each country will be chosen to be a "team-leader/captain" for their country team, the choice is ofc made by some kind of jury from ENSL or by Master admin himself. The person who is chosen will decide who shall play who shouldnt. This guy will not be able to play himself. He need to be fare an square about that he picks out players who's best for the team and not players he's friend with.

(Maybe you already tought of this, i don't know. I just wanted to put it out there incase not)

It's a bit early to organize such a tournament. We've thought of this obviously as we have had a few during NS1 days, but I think the current state of the game and of the community does not allow us to hold a decent competition for now.

I disagree with that, it should be perfectly possible to have a nations cup at this point. I personally have plans to try and make a nations cup once season 2 is over.

But i disagree that the "Leader" of the nation should not play!
I mean naturally it will be the seemingly best player of that country.. so ofc he should be playing.

I doubt that anyone would apoint his friends .. cause i am sure everyone wants to win!

I need to correct huhuh and swalk here. We had an admin meeting where we decided that a nations cup is planned, but earliest after season 2. Unfortunate miscommunication since these 2 admins couldn't attend and weren't specifically updated. My bad.

I think that each Nation Community should choose their own Coach, not any ENSL jury or external guy.

And OFC he should be able to play, it worked on NS1 and i dont see why it couldnt work here ^^
